Project: New golf club house

Description: Proposals for a new club house are well underway at South Shields Golf Club which will replace the old club house as well as providing function spaces to the first floor that are flexible for meetings, weddings or conferences. The project is due to start on site in spring 2010 and will be an example of cost-effective sustainable design utilising a timber frame, a living brown roof, passive solar design, natural ventilation and an abundance of daylight. Local stone is also used within the gabion wall construction which will also create natural habitats for local wildlife.
