Description The proposal comprised a complete renovation of the lower levels of the existing building, providing a new contemporary bar and restaurant with a new feature entrance being created including a metal staircase, platform lift and glass canopy taking inspiration from details in the existing building.

The project won the Regional Local Authority Building Control Awards category for Best Access/Disability Innovation beating the Sunderland Aquatic Centre to first prize.
